Mathematics is one of the fundamental sciences that is taught from the first to the last grade.

There are many myths about it, but the main ones are as follows:

  • An impregnable science. It is said that “not everyone is given” to understand it. However, research has shown that the intellect is constantly evolving and if you set it the right course, you can master any “inaccessible” field or science. To master math, you should work on examples as much as possible, analyze formulas, and gradually they will become easier, and the discipline will cease to be incomprehensible;
  • you need to cram formulas. This cliché is partly true. However, in most cases, it is not the math itself that is to blame, but the education system, which reduces the subject to memorization rather than understanding. In reality, the “queen of sciences” does not have many formulas, and they are logically interconnected, dependent on each other. You just need to understand this principle, follow the logical connection, and you don’t have to cram;
  • math is not for the humanities. Scientists disproved this myth in the last century. People are not born with an aptitude for the exact sciences. The fact that math is easier for some people is due to the neuroplasticity of the brain, which means that it has the ability to change depending on the tasks and new experiences. This feature helps in learning foreign languages, mastering musical instruments, and even dating.

These myths make it clear that everyone can master math. However, the right approach plays an important role in this.
